Veteraneros Skate Jam – Mexico City 2002
I’m riding the subway in Mexico City 2002 and there’s a chick reading a Mexican tattoo magazine. I glance over and on the page it says “The art of Steve and Art Godoy”… All pictures taken by Paco Manzanares.
Skateboarding in Mexico has always been going on, since the late 70´s.
In the eighties, there were concrete parks like Skatorama, Gran Batazo, and the Dogtown roller park. There were a few locals at these places like, Cesar “Jay” Delgado, Calabazo, Miguel Angel “Gamboya”, the Lopez brothers (Arturo and Roberto), Juan sin Miedo (no fear Juan), Kacha, Mincho, Enrique “Frijol” Ceniceros, and also amongst those locals were Steve and Art Godoy. So…. life goes on…and skating also………………
