Creature Skateboards Born Dead Review
I hate them all….Creatures! I find so much irony in skateboard videos today. The average skate video today will run you somewhere in the range of twenty to thirty dollars. However “Born Dead” by the recently revamped Creature Skateboards is free! Most of these skate videos that you have to pay for are complete garbage! I can almost tell you what will be in the video without even watching it! Most of them go something like handrail, handrail, stairs, ledge, handrail, ledge, handrail,…blah, blah, blah. The irony is that one of the only videos I would actually be willing to buy, is free!
This video is a good “slap in the face” to the modern skate industry. Born dead has to be one of the most well rounded skate videos that I have seen in a long time! There is plenty of empty pool deathbox destroying, D.I.Y Washington Street ripping, Oregon park shredding, and for good measure street skating. The video boasts a heavy line up of rippers including: Darren Navarette, Sam Hitz, Al Partanen, Josh Perkins, John Ponts, David Gravette, Drew Potter, Cody Boat, Alex Horn, and lots more! Darren Navarette, Sam Hitz, Alex Horn, and Al Partanen are the real transition technicians in this video, while guys like John Ponts, David Gravette, and Drew Potter throw down A.T.V style! The Creature team is showcased pretty much annihilating spots all over the globe; from Australia, to Washington and Oregon, Minnesota, and even that insane new park in the Cayman Islands!
Born dead is in my opinion definitely one of the best videos to hit skateboarding in a long time. Unfortunately this video will probably not be recognized as such due to excessive heshness (is that even a word?) and pool ripping, that according to “translame” magazine (you all know the real name) is no longer “cool”. I think that this is a video that only true skateboarders can really enjoy! This video also does not disappoint in the sound track area either, and even includes legendary punk band, the Adolescents! Born dead without a doubt deserves a 5 out of 5 rating. I really could not ask for a much better video. I seriously recommend getting this video if you can find it. If not then it is really not that hard to find on the internet!
