Skatepark Paramount

The six skating areas at Skatepark Paramount are designed for all levels of ability. The beginners run offers a safe area for the beginning skateboarder to learn how to handle curves, banks, and bowls. The freestyle area is a flat 2300 square foot area with banked walls and a take-off ramp. The slalom run is the only head-to-head 50 meter slalom run of its kind in existence. Offering a unique challenge to the slalom skater, this run will be electronically timed in the future.

The Spillway is a large, riverbed-like run over 140' in length, and ends in an incredible 50' wide bowl. The serpentine run is a 300' multiple "S" run, with safety coping and vertical walls that get progressively higher. This empties into a radical swimming pool type bowl 16' deep with 8' of vertical. This run is definitely for the advanced skater. The Channel run is a 20' wide, 10' deep half pipe that features vertical wall design and safety coping.

As one of the most functionally designed parks in Southern California, Skatepark Paramount will provide you with some hot skating on their radical runs.

The lifetime membership fee is $3.00, and is required to skate in the park. You will receive a photo ID card, plus a 10% discount in the pro shop on all items except magazines and stickers.

The admission charge is $1.25 per hour, with a two- hour minimum. Safety gear may be rented at the ticket office for 25 cents per item.

The pro shop carries a full line of high quality, professional caliber equipment. Park members receive a 10% discount on equipment, and a contest series for members is in the planning stage.

The game room, "The Electronic Wave," features 35 of the latest pinball and electronic games, and contests are held in the arcade. This area is also available for birthday rentals.

The snack bar specializes in high-energy whole foods, such as salads, fruits, juices, and sandwiches made with 7-grain bread. Also available is the regular line of Mexican and American style food.
