Offshoot of Steve's Sporting Goods, only open eight months
“We never did get enough kids in here to make it profitable,” said Steve Urman, owner of Super Bowl 1. His skateboard park was open less than eight months. Urman mostly blames the high insurance premiums. Insurance for Super Bowl 1 cost $47000 annually."

Excerpt from 'The Guide to Western Skateparks" 1978:
FEATURES:
The Super Bowl I Southbay features 9 separate runs for various levels of skating ability. The first areas are a freestyle area and a series of small bowls. There is also a slalom run and a snake run.
For a new dimension in getting airborn, there is Getting High, a banked and twisting run with stepped elevation changes. The South Bay Tube is an 18' wide half pipe 80' long, and the Keyhole Bowl is a 25' diameter bowl with a special keyhole entry. Finally, there are two pipes. The first is 50' long and 23' in diameter, with 26' bowls at each end. The second is 40' long and 18' in diameter, with 20' bowls at each end. All runs will be marked for degree of difficulty, and skaters will only be allowed on those runs which they can handle.
MEMBERSHIP:
There are three ways to become a lifetime member. The Superbowl I Introductory offer includes seven sessions at half price, a Superbowl T-shirt, and a decal and membership card. This is $7.95, and will be good through June 15, 1978.
Super Bowl I Southbay has a 3500 sq. ft. Club House with a pro shop stocking all the best in skateboarding equipment and accessories and repair service. There is also a snack bar for fighting off the munchies, and a game arcade full of the hottest computer games available.
I skated there a lot. Loved that place and getting Perry’s Pizza after the session. Pros like Gregg Ayres, Rodd Saunders, Tony Jetton and Vicky Vickers were often there.
