By the man who brought urethane to skateboarding.
Owned by none other than Frank Nasworthy, CWSC was the first of the so-called “second generation” skateparks in Florida. Second generation parks tended to focus more on standalone pipes and pools that reached vert rather than the banked runs common to first generation parks.
In addition to a banked freestyle area, a trough-style halfpipe, and an egg bowl, CWSC was notable for having the first proper tile and coping pool in a Florida skatepark. Sometimes referred to as the “monster hole,” the pool was 13 feet deep with 9 foot transitions and 3 to 4 feet of vert.
CWSC was unfortunately as short-lived as it was challenging, and in December 1978 it was closed. The park's closure was attributed to financial and insurance reasons, and it was demolished within a few months to reduce the liability presented by unmonitored skaters and BMXers using the park.
