Not to be confused with the San Diego park of the same name
Designed by Sidewalk Surfin’ Centers (Jim Talley, Charles Black, Howard Witkin), Skateboard Heaven had two bowls and a 42,000 square foot banked freestyle area. The two bowls were initially described as being designed for either beginners or advanced riders, with the former having a 40-degree slope and the latter a near-vert 80 degree slope.
Unspecified “construction problems” reportedly led to the closure of Skateboard Heaven, and by late 1978 it was abandoned.
