Mostly remembered as the place where Alan Gelfand and Jeff Duer invented the ollie
Though Skateboard USA was still in the pre-coping park design style, its vertical sections provided the testing grounds for one of the most important tricks of all time.
Important as it was, however, the park was very short lived and the skatepark was listed as “temporarily closed” in the beginning of Summer 1978. By July 18, 1978 manager Al Anderson said insurance issues cause the park to be shut down.
