A skatepark added to a family golf center
The Golf Club opened in January 1977 as a driving range, pitch and putt, and Mini-golf course.
Owner Barbara Damiano said the skateboard park was added “as an afterthought” simply because there was leftover land. However, due to the fact that no other skateparks existed in Southwest Florida at the time, the skatepark became an interesting addition.
Contemporary accounts called the park small, as it only had two connecting snake runs with the larger banked turn hitting about 21 feet in size. There were smaller banks and flat sections as well that comprised about one acre of space. The overall footprint of the Golf Club was more than fourteen acres.
