Designed and run by the nephew of Rev. Billy Graham
The larger of two parks built in Charlotte in the 70's, Concrete Connection had a slalom run, snake run, mogul run, freestyle area, halfpipe, and three bowls.
Graham kept the park open from late 1977 until 1980, then made the unusual decision to bury it under 700 tons of sand and turn the property into a fake beach. The building was expanded and a fake boardwalk was added, and the property was named TJ Mudd's. The dancefloor for the bar was a cement pad left over from the skatepark.
