Associated with the Surf n' Stuff shop
Freewheelin' Skateboard Ranch was owned by Woody Styron, the owner of Surf n’ Stuff shop and The Outer Bank Hammock Co.
At the time of its construction, Styron was 25 years old, and was the North Carolina Director for the Eastern Surfing Association. He was also the voice of the daily surf reports on local radio.
“I designed this facility and have plans to sell other designs to companies in Charlotte and Greensboro as well,” Styron told the Star-News after the park had opened.
