The first skatepark in any of the boroughs of New York, Island Skateboard was a compact wooden indoor park.
Skater Maurice Cummings described the park in Skateboarder Vol 4 issue 7 as having "two main runs: A beginner’s run that leads to a 15. Foot wall, and an expert run leading into a 15 foot bank with 4-5 feet of pure vertical.”
