A park with its own skateboarding superheroes
Funland was the second skatepark in Myrtle Beach, and it was stylistically very similar to the others in the area due to the fact that it was constructed and designed by the same firm (D & D Skateboard Inc.)
Funland's primary difference from the other D & D parks seems to have been that it was marketed the most heavily. Bill Wilson Sr. and Herman Jones were co-owners of Funland, and their "Resort Investments Inc." group put together a complete solution for skatepark design, construction, signage, and marketing. This package included the duo of regrettable trademarks "Superskater" and "Powergirl" whose likenesses were displayed prominently on the front of Funland's main building.
