Skatepark built adjoining a sporting goods store
The park included:  “a slalom run similar to the kind skiers are familiar with, and a snake run, which is a course with winding curves that have five to nine foot banks and leads to what is known as a number three bowl, which looks a pool without the water. Skateboarders will be able to get to 70 degree angles in the bowl, said Phil Slingsby, manager of the skate park. There will also be a freestyle course where skaleboarders can do tricks.”   --The Daily Journal 29 June 1977
