"Looks like a parking lot laid down by morons." -Charleston News and Courier
Managed by Bob and Rosalind Walsh and their skater son Robbie, this was the first of four skateparks built in the greater Charleston area, and was very similar in layout and design to the North Charleston park that opened just a few months after this one.
It included a 12 foot high, 120 ft long “paved wave” style snakerun, a 20 foot high, 150 foot long slalom, and a 10,000 sq foot freestyle area
By August 1979 the park "bit the dust" because "skateboarding in the lowcountry (had) gone the way of the dinosaur.”
Remains of the park were still skatable into the mid-1980's.
