I was 10 and living a couple of miles away when Climax Skatepark opened in 1976 or 1977. I went there as much as possible. It was indoor, and all the ramps were blue fiberglass, and fast! They had a 20’ high, steep ramp that gave you momentum to ride the big bowl pictured here. Then onto 3 berms, ending at a quarter pipe! In addition, they had a great 1/2 pipe (with 2’ of plexiglass vert!) a 3/4 pipe, a 1/4 pipe and a 4’ high wedge ramp for beginners. When skateboarding slowed in late ‘78/‘79, they abruptly closed and the ramps were trucked away. We had a blast at this gem! This is one of the only places online that lists our park. I don’t have any pictures - would love to see more if anybody has any! Thanks, Chris
