Crofton was a late second generation skatepark that focused on individual bowls rather than interconnected runs, akin to parks like Del Mar, Apple, Cherry Hill, or even the later Stone Edge.

It had a 12' left-hand kidney, a 14' capsule bowl, a 12' deep oval pool, the 10' "stillwaves" pool (no coping), and avbanked freestyle area.

Crofton opened to great fanfare in 1978, but it is best remembered for the skating that took place after the park had closed down.
