Built in the second wave of 70’s skateparks, Flying Wheels included a wide range of skateable terrains.
It featured a dish-type bowl called the “pink bowl,” a flat slalom run, a large snake run including vert and oververt, a small snake run, a pool with partial tile and coping, a freestyle area, and perhaps its most famous feature: a long halfpipe that bore a striking resemblance to the one found in Lakewood Center Skateboard World.
Flying Wheels was only open until 1981, but it remained skateable into the late 80's.
