Ocean State Skateboard Park (OSSP) - East Providence RI

A short-lived indoor park that closed down because one owner got arrested

There isn't much information about the park itself, and currently there are only a couple of photos of it in circulation.  This is likely because two months after the park opened, one of the co-owners was arrested for two counts of pandering for prostitution, two counts of receiving for immoral purposes, and one count of indecent exposure.

The state contested that the owner ran ads for cashiers for the skatepark, and when two women came in to interview for the job, he tried to persuade them into prostitution.

The jury trial took place in 1979, and the park's ownership corporation was suspended.  He was found innocent by jury, but not until 1980. It's unknown if the park lasted beyond the one year and two month span of the legal issues.
