"The course itself is a maze of skateboard runs (or paths), banked and sloped in various patterns. The banks are concrete that has been poured and smoothed into tight, turning slopes. A central timing house is the center of the park, with glass windows on all sides to keep an eye on any boarder trying to sneak in an extra minute of surfing.

'Jackson, time's up,' the man on the loudspeaker blared. 'Hendricks, time's up, Smith, time's up.' The signal that your money had run out and that it was 'pay to play or leave time.'

Some of the more brazen skaters stayed on the track until the man came out to ask them in a more direct manner. That's getting your money's worth, I guess."
