Similar to the Max Kehne park bowl in Frederick, Baltimore City built an experimental public skate bowl out of asphalt in Leone-Riverside park in early 1978. News reports from the time put its cost at $12,500, and called the park "small, minimal." It was filled with large boulders and buried in 1988, but its footprint remains clearly visible.
