More commonly known as Magic Skatepark
Spinning Wheels had a rectangular footprint and most of its features were "below sea level" rather than built up. It included several unusually-shaped runs and bowls, including one shaped like a letter U and one shaped like a number nine. In addition to the asphalt features, there was also a concrete pool affectionately referred to as the "kink sink" that had tile and coping during its first few years, but never again even after the park was closed, re-opened, renamed, and re-sold several times.
The longest-running original asphalt skatepark is the tiny hill located in Longview, Washington constructed in July of 1978 and operating mostly undisturbed since then. However, Magic skatepark had an impressively long run, lasting into the first few years of the new millennium before ultimately being destroyed for residential development.
