Review Detail
Ok, so here's the scoop on this place as of April 2014. It looks amazing...huge, with ample street area, a great area for carving with tons of transitions, plus a massive vert half pipe. But it's closed. As in closed to the public, as in no one allowed in, "closed for business" closed. That explains why I was not able to get any hours of operation information on the web before I took my family on a trip to Spain. Imagine if they built Dodger Stadium, then just let it sit there unused and uncared for. HOWEVER...you can still skate the park as long as you're willing to hop the fence and can get there before 4pm.
My son and I took a short taxi ride there from central Malaga only to find the park boarded-up, graffiti-covered and weed-infested. But there were maybe 4 or 5 locals there who informed us that the police don't bother to kick anyone out for trespassing, and a security guard doesn't show up until 4pm each day to kick anyone out. Unfortunately we found this out at 3:58pm and the security guard promptly showed up 2 minutes later. We're off to Granada for a few days, but definitely plan to come back through Malaga to test out this skatepark. Before 4pm! So 4 stars based on looks alone, will hopefully bump it up to 5's after skating it.
