NEW SHAKOPEE SKATEPARK 2023 Originally constructed in 2001, the Shakopee skatepark has undergone several renovations over the last two decades. However in 2021, the Shakopee City Council approved funding for a complete redesign and rebuild of the skatepark. Together, I worked with the Shakopee Park and Recreation department and Spohn Ranch to design a park that was truly unique and would meet the needs of our local action sports community. We even partnered with 3rd Lair Skatepark and local businesses to sponsor a 20th Anniversary party and competition, with free food and plenty of prizes. This event was open to everyone and was a great opportunity to gather input from local skaters about the park redesign. Special thanks to the city of Shakopee, the Shakopee Park and Recreation Department, 3rd Lair Skatepark, Spohn Ranch, and to all the riders and businesses who have supported our skatepark over these last 22 years!
