Ballard Seafood Fest (First Annual Festi-Bowl Competition) & Chinatown-Id Dragon Fest all in one long day. There's a new and exciting addition to the Ballard SeafoodFest this year. The Ballard Skate Festi•Bowl at the Ballard Commons kicks up a fun-filled day for all ages and levels of experience with skateboarding instruction, a slalom event, kids skate exhibition, and a competition in the Ballard Commons Bowl. This event is open to the public and aimed as a family centered opportunity for kids and anyone to safely learn about skateboarding and see some of the best skaters compete for a cash purse. Brought to you by the community members and local businesses of The Ballard Chamber of Commerce, All Together Skate Park, re-souL, Second Ascent, Sweet Mickeys, Brownwork, and more. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dragon Fest is the premier pan Asian American celebration in the Northwest. Centered in the heart of Seattle's historic Chinatown-International District (C-ID), the Festival attracts more than 30,000 people over two days and features a line-up of over 30 cultural performances with everything from the spirited Chinese lion and dragon dances, to captivating martial arts demonstrations and Japanese taiko drumming. Bounded by the iconic Chinese Gate and beautiful Hing Hay Park, this Seafair Festival brings the streets to life with historic walking tours, a large-scale outdoor Asian market and cultural activities for people of all ages.
